The first Guanches Warriors Championship turned Arrecife’s Palacio de los Deportes into a cage. Shot cageside: the stare-downs before the bell, the impacts and what happens in the corners when it’s over.

On the card: Theo Bashford vs Samuel Cassimiro, Sebas Santana against Adrian Priscenau, Elliot vs Amaya, the women’s bout between Isabel Calvo and Carolan Olivares, and fighters such as Deivid Santana, Borja Pérez and Nicolás Brea.

Hard light from the roof, a black background and skin glistening with sweat: the series’ palette comes straight from the venue. The focus is on tension, not just the strike.
